"
In Florida, there is late afternoon
light during the winter months that
is soft with red, orange and yellow
"glory light.” Trees, leaves and
grasses take on this golden glow
becoming transformed by the lowness
of the side light. Dappled pools of
light settle on forest floors
amongst the limbs and branches as
tree trunks quietly stand guard.
North Florida has a quiet majesty in
its trees. Ancient Live Oaks, Pecan
and Cherry trees amidst Dogwoods and
Magnolias weather horrific storms
then bask in the golden light of
still forests. Even the lowly Slash
Pine is transformed as dusk
inexorably overtakes with darkness.
